BACKGROUND
Over 35 years of experience as an Architect. Designing various types of Commercial and Residential projects, from large works like Residential Care Facilities, to the smaller work of remodeling residences, you can look to me to produce the professional end product your looking for, no matter the size or complexity.
After graduating from college at the University of Oregon - I worked at various firms in Medford Oregon for a few years and eventually opened my own office in the same city. This worked out well for quite a while until the bubble burst and the ten projects my firm was working on all dried up one by one from 2007 to 2008. I had to close my office. This may seem like a sad story - but this slow time actually gave me the opportunity to move my 85 year old father into my home. I was able spend quality time with dad while taking care of him for the last three years of his life. When he went on to heaven in 2010 it was time for a change of scenery. Was dating a woman from Kentucky, we got married and while touring the USA looking for a new place to settle down - she told me about Destin - the little fishing town she used to vacation at. What a great area - we have been living in Northwest Florida since 2011.
Florida was new to me, and not wanting to jump right in as an Architect - decided to become a certified home inspector. This occupation was right up my alley and allowed me to get very familiar with types of construction and design in the area. Was a certified commercial and home inspector for over 4 years. Commercial inspections led to me designing tenant improvements. After inspecting residences for years led me to the decision to design and build my own residence. This home was recently completed with myself as the owner builder. What a help this hands on experience has been. This undertaking helps me greatly with my latest residential design under construction as this is being written.
